Coordinator for Family Engagement


Essa Public Library has a 16-month CONTRACT opportunity for a Coordinator of Family Engagement to inspire children and families to learn, discover and grow community together. We seek an individual with well-honed communication and organizational skills to model excellent customer service, lead and develop programs for children and families and to deepen community connections. This position reports to the CEO and collaborates with the Manager of Library Services and another full-time Coordinator of Family Engagement to deliver children’s programs (ages 0-13), outreach and to develop library services and initiatives for our community. 

The Township of Essa, located in Simcoe County, includes Angus, Thornton, Canadian Forces Base Borden, and a few smaller communities in a rural landscape. Essa Public Library has two branches - Angus Branch is a joint-use facility operated in partnership with a secondary school, and a smaller community branch located in Thornton.

You will work in both branches, require transportation to attend meetings and events in the community, nurture the children’s collection, and participate in library services in order to best meet the diverse needs of the community. You will be familiar with trends in library service delivery and related technologies and will collaborate to lead and learn within a dynamic work environment. The ability to communicate in French would be preferred.

2024 pay grid start: $32.78/hour; option to participate in OMERs.
