Parks and Recreation News

• Outdoor skating rinks are now open in Angus at Glen Eton/Wildflower Park and at the Thornton Community Centre Outdoor Rink. Please ensure you are wearing proper safety gear and following the posted skate schedule.

Winter Parking Updates

Please be advised that Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect, November 1st to May 1st each year. During this period, vehicles are not permitted to be parked on the roads, over a sidewalk or on any municipal boulevard, even if there is no snow. Violators may be ticketed or towed.

Building Department News

• Make legalizing your secondary suite a priority to ensure your tenant’s safety and to avoid penalties if an unregistered unit is discovered during an emergency. Registering the suite ensures emergency services are aware of additional occupants living in the dwelling.

Planning and Development News

• On February 4, 2026, Council passed an Interim Control By-law applying to all lands within the Settlement of Angus to temporarily restrict certain new development requiring water and wastewater servicing. This measure allows the Township time to complete necessary servicing studies and infrastructure planning to ensure future growth can be supported responsibly.
• The new Official Plan continues to be under development. As a result of ongoing discussions with multiple stakeholders regarding ERO 025-0930, the growth component is now being separated from the main policy document.
