The Township’s Public Works Department is currently seeking individuals to fill the requirements of three (3) vacant contract Labourer positions.
Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, the Labourer is responsible for a variety of construction, maintenance and repair services for Township roads. The position is based on a 40-hour work week from April to October. Candidates must be able to operate a variety of light equipment, as well as possibly: front-end loader, dozer, tractor-backhoe, tandem dump trucks, and other specialized equipment, and carry out manual labour requiring articulate physical dexterity for construction and maintenance efforts of the department.
Key Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Driver’s License in good standing. Class “D” or higher with Z air brake endorsement.
- Have 1-3 years’ experience operating construction equipment: front-end loader, dozer, tractor-backhoe, tandem dump trucks.
- Have knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Compensation for this position is $26.03 - $30.61/hr (2026), 40 hours per week. No benefits will be offered. The incumbent will be required to supply their own safety boots (CSA approved). Must be able to provide us with a clean driver’s abstract.
