Employment Opportunity - Administrative Assistant – Clerks/Customer Care Representative

The Township of Essa is a dynamic and fast-growing municipality with a current population of approximately 23,500, located in the County of Simcoe and southwest of the City of Barrie. The Township is seeking an individual to fill the requirements of an Administrative Assistant – Clerk/Customer Care Representative position to assist the municipality’s Clerk’s Department.

Reporting to the Manager of Legislative Services/Clerk, the Administrative Assistant – Clerk/Customer Care Representative provides administrative support to all members of the Clerk’s Department including the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and Municipal Law Enforcement Officers, updates social media outlets and distributes communications, oversees the operation of telephones, printers and photocopiers by all staff, data entry, processing various permits and licenses and conducts research.

Key Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education/training or college diploma in Business or Office Administration or an equivalent program.
  • Minimum one (1) year administrative role experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and good knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality of information at all times is critical.

This is a full-time position involving 35 hours per week. Salary range is $49,349.24 - $58,067.08 (2025 – currently under review). Essa Township offers benefits and a competitive compensation package.
