Road Permits

Entrance Permits are required for all access points (driveway, farm entrance/laneway, etc.) to private property from a municipal road.  

To obtain an Entrance Permit, complete and submit payment using our online Entrance Permit E-Commerce Application.   A member of the Public Works Department will contact you directly to advise on the status of approval for your application.  If you require the Entrance Permit Application in another format (ie: pdf), please contact the Public Works Department.

For Entrance Permits on County of Simcoe Roads, contact the County of Simcoe at 705-726-9300 ext. 250.

For Entrance Permits on Highway 89, please contact the Ministry of Transportation at 519-376-7350.

A Heavy Load Permit is required for motorists that are moving heavy or over-sized loads on municipal roads.  

To obtain and pay for a Heavy Load Permit using our online platform, please complete and submit the online Heavy Load Permit E-Commerce Application.  A member of the Public Works Department will review your application.  Please Note: A permit is issued after payment has been received.  If required, a member of the Public Works Department may contact you to discuss your permit application.  If you require the Moving/Heavy Load Permit Application in another format (ie: pdf), please contact the Public Works Department.

Road Occupancy Permits are required to be submitted to the Public Works Department when a property owner wishes to install enclosed drains on roadside ditches, or to connect to the municipal water and sanitary sewer trunk lines on those streets where they have been installed.

To obtain a Road Occupancy Permit, please complete and submit the online Road Occupancy E-Commerce Permit Application.  A member of the Public Works Department will contact you directly to advise on the approval of your application.

To apply online, complete the 9-1-1 Sign Permit Application and and make your payment through our online portal.  The fee is required to be paid prior to your application being approved. If you are paying cash, you will be required to apply in person at the Administration Centre.
